Shabbat

For thousands of years, Shabbat has offered the Jewish people the opportunity to come together as a community to reconnect with one another, with our tradition and with ourselves.

“More than the Jews have kept Shabbat, Shabbat has kept the Jews.” Ahad Ha’am (Asher Ginsberg, poet, philosopher, 1856-1927).

Friday Nights

Candles and Challah

At 6:00 pm we welcome Shabbat. Our services are on Zoom. Depending upon the week, our services are led by Rabbi Wallk, Reverend Aminia and either Cantor Martin Levson, Cantor Elizabeth Shammash or Cantor Elise Barber.

For more information about these services contact Rev. David Aminia.

Shabbat Mornings

Our traditional egalitarian service begins at 10:00 am in the Cantor Morton Shames Sanctuary. Within the context of our traditional liturgy, we read from the Torah and celebrate milestone moments in the lives of our community, ranging from B’nai Mitzvah to aufrufs, baby namings, milestone birthdays and anniversaries.

Each week Rabbi Wallk offers a teaching based upon the weekly Torah portion.
